During winter break we had the pleasure of pet sitting for some friends. We got to spend two weeks with an adorable hamster named Fuzzy and a very cool leopard gecko named Loose. As you can imagine Beemer fell madly in love with both animals. She just couldn't get enough of them.

Loose liked to crawl up on Beemer's shoulder and hide under her hair. She thought it tickled.
Here's a full body shot of Loose - so cool! We really enjoyed having our guests and while we aren't adding any more pets to our family just yet, we can't wait to pet sit again!

I would pet sit the hamster....maybe. Definately not the gecko.
Garrett has been BEGGING us for a leopard gecko for the last year. He is saving his money. We may have to give in soon. I'm glad your experience wasn't too bad, it gives me a little hope.
My kids would have been in heaven. We've used the apartment excuse for so long, and now that we will be in a house, it is the only thing they talk about. We'll probably start out small, like a fish.

We have a ton of animals (2 dogs, 3 cats, 20 chickens, 3 turtles, and a bearded dragon). The lizard is far and away the best pet of them all! He's free range on the slate floor and just chills hoping for some carrots or bugs. It's the way to go!
