Bird Man
While Mom and Steve were here we also made a trip to the World Bird Sanctuary and my adorable, oops I mean studly, husband demonstrated his bird handling skills. The pictures show him holding a female Kestrel, an Eastern Screech Owl (these little owls are so cute), a Redtail Hawk, and a male Kestrel. They all have names, but Ahenobarbus will have to fill them in wehn he comments. On a side note, doesn’t he look great with a bird on his arm? And for those of you who know him well - check out that teaching pose!

The female AK (top two) is Sassy; the E. Screech Owl (female) is Acorn; the Red-Tailed Hawk (male) is Waggoner; and the male AK is Flash. It was fun giving everyone a little closer look at them than they usually get.
That owl has the same hair color as AT. Looks fun!
He totally looks like a teacher. That bird looks really cute!
I'm jealous of his bird affinity and handling skills. None of the birds look nervous. Good man.
So....is the owl's red eye considered a deformity? Or is it considered a desirable trait? Is it like...infrared vision or something? ;)
