Sleeping (Bag) Beauty

A few weeks ago Ahenobarbus and I decided to surprise the girls with a family slumber party. We watched a movie, had snacks, and slept in the basement in sleeping bags. (Kind of, I slept on the couch and Audi slept in her pack and play.) Beemer LOVED it. We have since repeated the event three times. The best part for her was sleeping in her sleeping bag, followed closely by a new adoration of Spiderman (the second movie we watched). She has asked to sleep in her sleeping bag almost every night since. She has slept in her bed in her bag - where she fell out thanks to the slipperiness of her bag, and she has slept an extra night downstairs with AT.

One night, after repeated requests to sleep in her bag (while AT and I desperately wanted to sleep in our bed), we decided to arrange a campout in the dining room for her. We spread a blanket over the table for a perfect tent - there was just enough room for her and her animals!
She slept all night and loved her tent!

The next morning this is what AT found when he entered the kitchen:

How fun. Definitely something I am going to have to copy when Adalyn gets a little older.

That is so cute! I love how her little arm is poking out from underneath the blanket. :)
Sometimes you forget what an adventure it is to simply sleep in a sleeping bag.

I saw Lori and sisters and your address, I am excited to keep in touch with you. Is that okay?
I love the protruding arm. That sounds like so much fun to have a sleepover! I love that Beemer has to sleep with animals too.

You guys are so fun! I'm glad she got to use her sleeping bag while we were there too. Sleepovers are the best! We had a great time and can't wait to see you again. We hope we can return the hosting favor and you can come up here to see us sometime soon.

Hannah fully recovered by Monday and thank you so much for letting us use your medicines. Our drive home was uneventful and all in all a terrific trip to your lovely home. Hugs to your cuties!
