Packing

I have a confession - I don't mind moving, I actually kind of like it. I wouldn't want to do it every month, but thanks to all my housing moves (11), it doesn't stress me out as much as other people. The idea of being able to sort, clean and organize everything we own makes me SO very happy! (Yes, I know that many of you would consider this a disease, but I also know one or two of you who whole-heartedly agree). This particular move is an especially happy one for me. During our last move I was SO sick and we were moving across the country. So, the idea of moving a few miles while not pregnant seems like a dream.

All of that said, it is still packing and moving. Yesterday after I packed my 19th (no that isn't a typo) box of books, I realized just how little packing and moving I did last time and how much help I had from family and friends. So now, a year later looking back at the whole thing with fresh eyes, I want to thank each of you again: those of you who helped to pack and sort all of our stuff; those of you who babysat for hours; those of you who brought food/fed us when I couldn't think of eating, let alone cooking; those of you who let us rest at your house; those of you who helped load the moving van and clean our house; those of you who drove across the country with us and unloaded our moving van; those of you who searched for hours for the "perfect" car toys for Beemer during the long drive; and those of you rescued us from box hell when I couldn't stand up to unpack! I don't know how we would have gotten here without each of you - thank you!

And to my amazing husband, who REALLY hates to move - you are my hero! Thank you for taking the lead and getting us to St. Louis. And thank you for moving again, not so that your commute will be shorter, but so that your girls will be happier. We love you!

Memory Lane

Okay, I admit it, I stole this idea from a friend (I even copied her picture and title), but it sounds fun.

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Moving

So, it's official we are moving just outside of St. George at the end of the month.

We'll still be in the suburbs of St. Louis and Ahenobarbus will still have a bit of a commute each day, but it cuts a few minutes off. The best part is that we will have a real backyard for the girls and somewhere to put a kiddy pool. We'll also have a swing set (our very own park as Beemer puts it). After our last move I never thought I would say this, but I am very excited for the move - even the packing and unpacking (my favorite part) and my fabulous sisters are coming out to help me finalize the unpacking and decorate. In comparison to our last move - this one should be a breeze.

(Confession time: How many of you cheered or smiled after reading the first line, thinking we were moving back to Utah?)

Maramec Spring State Park

Last weekend we went to the Maramec Spring State Park with our friends the Timms. It took some effort to get there, but was totally worth it - we saw huge Rainbow trout, lots of fireflies and almost felt like we were in the mountains. And, it was a great place to break in Beemer's new camelback!
