Our Home

After weeks of patience (on your part) and finding a quiet minute (on my part), here is the video of our new place. I apologize in advance for any motion sickness it may cause. Simply put, Ahenobarbus has a more stable "filming hand" than I do. Also, due to some odd Blogger issues, I had to split my video, and due to my novice movie making abilities, I cut the movie mid-sentence. I guess my point is this: this video won't win any awards, but you will get to see where we live!

The Upstairs

The Downstairs

We really love it here! We have good friends close by, its a quiet neighborhood, and it feels like home. The move was definitely worth it.

First Day of (Pre) School

Today was Beemer's first day of school. She was so excited! She had her first day of school outfit and knew just how she wanted her hair combed.

All ready to go!
(Luckily Ahenobarbus took her to school, so I could easily hide my teary eyes.)

At school - here she goes!

I picked her up after school. Here she is coming out the door.

After school, with her new school bag. When I asked her what they learned, she said, "We learned about how to be happy, because some of the kids were sad. But I wasn't sad at all." It sounds like a great first day!

One side note: Beemer's school is collecting post cards from around the country this year. It would be really cool if she could take some from her (and our) friends around the country. So, if you would like to send a postcard from your house (or if you are going somewhere cool in the coming year), I'm sure Beemer would love to hear from you! Thanks!
(If you need our new address, just email me!)

Beemer's First Prayer in Primary

"Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day.
Please bless that our teeth won't fall out.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

She was so proud of herself for doing it all alone. It was all I could do to congratulate her, lead her back to her seat and leave the room, before Ahenobarbus and I erupted in laughter!

One More Just For Fun

I've been tagged again, and since I have no new pictures to post (I am going to get a video of our new apt done, I promise), I decided to make a trio of tags.

Four random things I love about my spouse:
1. His ability to adapt and adjust to any social situation. Not only do I appreciate this ability, but it also really helps me to feel comfortable no matter where we are. Ahenobarbus reads me well and when I am less comfortable (like the first time I met his peers) he steps up and takes the lead in situations. Whereas, when I am comfortable and at ease, he sits back and lets me have the limelight.
2. He knows the answer to almost everything linguistic (and lots of other things too). He is my font of knowledge (or where to find an answer). I love that I can use him like a dictionary/desk reference and that I can trust his knowledge.
3. He is the fun in our relationship. We noticed this years ago and it is still true. He reminds me that life is not all about checklists and agendas. He is the reason I am ever impromtu and he "makes me laugh, every day."
4. He can talk to anyone. He gets this quality from his dad and I think they are both amazing. He can put you at ease and make you laugh in a matter of minutes whether he has known you ten years or never met you before!

Four jobs I've had:
1. Resident Assistant
2. Area Coordinator
3. Movie Theater Staff Member
4. Conveince Store Clerk

Four movies I have watched more than once (by my choice, not Beemer's):
1. When Harry Met Sally
2. Pride and Prejudice (the A&E version)
3. Sleepless in Seattle
4. Elizabethtown

Four TV shows I watch:
1. Numb3rs
2. Bones
3. LOST
4. Pushing Daisies

Four places I have been:
1. San Diego, CA
2. Nauvoo, IL
3. Alberta, Canada
4. Madison, WI

Four of my favorite foods:
1. Fruit (especially berries and watermelon)
2. Thanksgiving dinner (I realize this is really a whole bunch of foods)
3. Ben and Jerry's Creme Brule
4. Anything at Acero's (our new favorite restaurant)

Four places I would like to visit:
1. Turkey (with Ahenobarbus)
2. Oregon (especially the coast)
3. Disneyland (with my girls)
4. Ireland

Four things I am looking forward to in the coming year:
1. Ahenobarbus finishing his MA and moving on to his PhD.
2. Autumn - the smells, the colors, the temperatures...umm!
3. Christmas (my FAVORITE time of year).
4. Lots of visitors (hint, hint)

Four people I tag:
1. Kate
2. Ahenobarbus
3. Julia Jane
4. Nikki

Audi's First Tag

Nicknames: Audi - this one mostly came about because her sister is nicknamed Beemer, and well, Audi is another car.

Favorite activities: Eating, sleeping, playing with Beemer, being held.

Favorite foods: So far she like everything I have given her, oh wait except for that green jello at Aunt Amy's.

Least favorite foods: I guess green jello.

Favorite music: Her lullaby - I Don't Want to Live on the Moon.

Favorite toys: Stuffed green frog from Aunt Jodie and her binki strap (not the binki, just the strap)

Favorite book: She hasn't really shown a preference for any one book yet, but she LOVES to be read to.

Favorite item of clothing: She doesn't care, but she always looks ADORABLE (thanks again to her aunts).

What makes her happy: Mom holding her, Beemer (Audi thinks she is HILARIOUS).

What makes her sad: When she wants to be held (and no one picks her up).
